Title: Let Me Be Yours
Rating: G
Involving: Markus Rogan, Aaron Piersol
Summary: Love endures on a rainy day.

It is raining. Dramatic, icy sheets of rain slash into the waves, adding to the pounding surf.

A lone figure stands at the end of the pier. Clad in jean cutoffs and a Long Horn t-shirt, both of which are soaked through, he seems to ignore the weather and only stares out into the ocean. He tosses his head once, shaking dripping blonde curls out of eyes that reflect the grey sky and smiles ruefully.

“Well?”

“Well what?” Markus walks up and stops just behind Aaron. He is carrying an umbrella, and miracle of miracles, it has kept him bone dry against the drenching wind.

“It’s nice, isn’t it?”

“You’re insane.”

“Yeah, probably.” Aaron laughs. He leans out over the railing to look down at the crashing waves. The water is a shade of green only achieved by mixing with the rain. “Wanna jump?”

Markus glances at Aaron, his eyes unreadable. The sound of the roaring surf fills his ears, and involuntarily, Markus shivers.

“Would you dive in after me?”

Aaron’s smile is a beacon of light in the hazy rain. “When have I ever not?”

Markus’ lips twitch in the beginnings of a grin. He walks forward carefully, avoiding the deeper tracts of water, and stands next to Aaron. Aaron blinks droplets off his eyelashes, then lets Markus shift the umbrella to shield him. He gazes at Markus for a long minute without the interruption of falling rain.

He sees everything he was never supposed to need.

He sees everything he could never give up.

“Hate the sinner but love the sin,” Aaron murmurs.

“You know how I love you.” And Markus reaches over to cup Aaron’s cold face with a warm palm and pulls him in for a kiss. Searing soft lips meet freezing chapped ones. Then hands hot on Aaron’s icy skin slide under his clinging t-shirt to press just under his shoulder blades. The umbrella is forgotten, spiraling down to lie in a puddle.

Their bodies move together, Markus’ heat seeping into Aaron, and Aaron thinks it’s just like lying in the sun.

The rain has settled into a filmy mist now, making the word seem to blur and glow. Aaron glances around, then looks back at Markus.

“So. Are we going to jump?”

Markus grins. “No. We’re going to stay here and watch the clouds move.”

Aaron tilts his head up to see the dark clouds chase each other across the sky, fleeing from the patches of bright blue. He moves one hand to grab Markus’, lacing their fingers together.

“Suppose I said you were my saving grace?”

And Markus bursts out laughing.
